SILKUS
Product Details:
Composition: Silk
Construction: Braided
Coating: Coated with Silicon to give ‘hand’ to the suture.
In vitro retention of strength: Although Silkus® is classified as a non-absorbable suture, it loses most of its tensile strength in one year.
Tissue Reaction: Silk being a natural fibre elicits an inflammatory reaction, which is followed by gradual encapsulation of the suture by fibrous connective tissue
Absorption Time: Although Silkus® is classified as a non-absorbable suture, it gets completely absorbed in 2 years. Hence, it can be considered as a very slow absorbing suture
Sterilization: 100% Ethylene Oxide
Available in Sizes: 8-0, 7-0, 6-0, 5-0, 4-0, 3-0, 2-0, 0, 1
Colour : Black
Shelf Life: 5 years
Packaging: Box of 12 suture
Distinct Features:
  • Coated with silicon to allow easy passage through tissue, limit absorption and increase ductility.

  • Knot pull strength and needle swage strength greater than USP limits.

  • Packed using Tyvek paper for extra security.

  • Dyed black for better visibility.
